New Home Office Reveal!

In my opinion (and I have lots of them!), one of the more interesting things about 2020 and the impact of COVID-19 has been how we have all made adjustments to our day to day lives.  From work from home, Zoom, school at home to eating at home (I don't like to cook), we've all made adjustments.  Some have moved.  Some have moved out of State.  Some temporarily, some permanently.  Some have moved out of the cities to the 'burbs, and some have just gone on an extended vacation.  We met a young couple in Arizona who had given up their leases in Manhattan, and were spending a month in each city before moving on to their next, unplanned, destination.  Oh to be 25 again!

When my husband, Ty, was sent home to work, he took over our home office that I had just converted from a spare bedroom a short time ago.  That left me banished to the couch.  Needless to say, it was not the optimal working environment!!  As I posted a while back, I partnered up with my good friend and designer, Connie Hicks, with Custom Designs and Remodel, to repurpose my underutilized formal dining space into a work/dining dynamo that I could use to really focus, and yes, get some work done!!

Here are the final results, and some comments on each design choice! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.  If you have considered remodeling, or maybe moving, let's talk! These creative solutions can help you stay OR sell!

Those Window Frames!

I am loving the black frames that visually separate the formal dining space from the formal living space.  They create much needed separation, while allowing light to flow through.

We added the shelves on either side of the buffet, and installed Library Lighting and a new Chandelier.

The custom barn door is my favorite! It separates the office from the kitchen and living areas, and provides much needed peace and quiet! The stain and the hardware are perfect, and it even has a soft close feature! I have been most impressed with the workmanship and quality of this door.

For the Holidays, I can simply turn the table back, add in the 4th chair, and my office is a dining room once again!
